The Paper Plane Challenge is a fundraising event in aid of the charity CHILDREN with LEUKAEMIA.
The Challenge itself is simple, fantastic and fun-filled and all taking part will design, construct and decorate their own paper plane.
Prizes will then be awarded for the furthest flown, the best decorated and the most inventive design.
All materials will be provided and all profits will go to the charity.
About the Charity:
Children with Leukaemia is the UK's leading charity dedicated exclusively to fighting Britain's biggest childhood cancer.
Most children with leukaemia can now be successfully treated, but the treatment is gruelling. It can last three years or more, it involves painful procedures and long stays in hospital. The drugs used to treat the leukaemia can themselves make the child very unwell in the short-term and also carry the risk of long-term side effects.
Not only does CHILDREN with LEUKAEMIA fund ground-breaking research looking to develop more effective yet kinder treatments for childhood leukaemia, but also fund research into the causes of the disease. This will help to inform treatment, but may also enable us to prevent children from developing leukaemia in the future. Incidence has been increasing and we need to know why.
Their vision is a world where no child needs to suffer from leukaemia.
